Kokomo's housing is mostly older: the historic neighborhoods around downtown and Highland Park, the bungalows and two-stories near the auto plants, and post-war ranches on the north and south sides, with newer subdivisions only on the edges. Wildcat Creek winds through the city, and Howard County farmland surrounds it. That combination produces the pest pattern we see on every Kokomo route: mice every fall, American and German cockroaches in older homes and rentals, termites in crawl-space houses, wasps in summer, and wolf spiders in the garage every October.
Pest Assassin has serviced Kokomo since 2018. Residential plans with no contracts, commercial programs for the restaurants, offices, and industrial sites along US 31 and Markland Avenue, and technicians who inspect before treating.
Pests We Treat Most in Kokomo
- Rodents Mice from the surrounding farmland are the defining fall pest in Kokomo, and Norway rats turn up along Wildcat Creek and around older commercial blocks.
- Roaches American cockroaches from older sewer and drain lines and German cockroaches in rental units and multi-family buildings.
- Termites Older homes with crawl spaces and wood near the soil, especially near the creek, carry real termite risk.
- Stinging Pests Paper wasps under eaves and porch ceilings, yellow jackets in wall voids of older homes, and carpenter bees in unpainted wood.
- Spiders Wolf spiders coming in from the fields every fall, and brown recluse in older attics, basements, and outbuildings.
- Wildlife Raccoons and squirrels in the attics of older two-story homes, bats in soffits, and groundhogs under sheds along the creek.

Call or send the form. We quote it, schedule it, and a technician inspects before treating anything. If a covered pest comes back between visits, so do we, at no charge.
About Kokomo, Indiana
Kokomo is the seat of Howard County, about an hour north of Indianapolis on US 31. Its roots go back to the Miami people of the Great Lakes region and to David Foster, who founded the town and named it for a son of the Miami chief. The Indiana Gas Boom of the 1880s made Kokomo an industrial center, and its long list of inventions, from the first commercially built automobile to the first stainless steel, earned it the name City of Firsts. Today it remains an auto manufacturing city with a historic downtown, Highland Park, and Wildcat Creek running through it.
We regularly service downtown Kokomo, the Highland Park neighborhoods, the Old Silk Stocking district, the north side, the south side along Southway Boulevard, the US 31 and Markland Avenue commercial corridors, the neighborhoods along Wildcat Creek, and Center Township. If you are anywhere in or around Kokomo, we cover you.
Kokomo Pest Control Questions
Pests are active year-round in Indiana, but most are visible from April through October. Ants and wasps peak in summer, mice and spiders move indoors in October, and termite swarmers appear on warm days in spring. Winter is when rodents and roaches are most noticeable inside because the house is the only warm place.
Mice, cockroaches, ants, boxelder bugs, stink bugs, cluster flies, and some beetles all overwinter indoors in Kokomo homes. Rodents stay active all winter. Most of the insects tuck into wall voids and attics and reappear on the first warm days of spring, which is why fall exclusion and perimeter treatment matter.
Yes. Raccoons, squirrels, bats, opossums, skunks, groundhogs, and moles are all handled with humane removal and exclusion under Indiana regulations, then the entry points are sealed so nothing gets back in.
